Cowslips, Drystone walls and landscapes in Cumbria

A weekend staying in Brownber Hall for Pete Simms' birthday bash where we walked in blazing sunshine on Sunday, but early on Monday the weather began to break, but lead to some more interesting skies when I went in search of cowslips.

Panel preparation - left-handed shot required

After some much appreciated advice and help from Ian Wilson and Ann Miles, I am almost ready for the RPS distinctions Advisory day at Bildeston as I prepare to attempt an LRPS.  It turns out that I am one left-handed picture short of a complete panel so I've been out looking for left handed candidates around Cambridge at lunchtime this week.  It occurs to me that whilst Cambridge is old hat to those of us fortunate enough to live there or thereabouts, the assessors may not be so familiar with our stamping ground.

First a couple of views of The Fort St George: I like the view, but I think that I need to return early in the morning when the sun is shining and the river is still and reflecting clearly.

One of the Divinity school, recently beautifully restored, with some ghosts appearing outside - Holy Spirits? Another possible left handed venue to return to when it isn't so busy and raining!

This shot of Kings and their ghosts won't do for the panel as it is the wrong aspect - landscape shot needed!

Apple Pie - Stage 1

The apple blossom is just bursting; please may we have no frost at least until it has set its fruit - last year was a complete blank
