London skyline from Elephant & Castle

When working at my client's offices in The Elephant & Castle, I grabbed some views from the 6th floor roof garden which afforded an uninterrupted view of several of London's new architectural icons - The Cheese-Grater, The Gherkin, The Walkie-Talkie and of course the Shard.  I was pleased to be able to see the dome of St Paul's as well.

An evening around Greenwich

Last week I was working in the Elephant & Castle and spent an evening around Greenwich looking for some iconic cityscapes (with a few other variants thrown in).  The tree in Greenwich park looked fairly unremarkable until I stepped under the canopy and realised that it had once been enormous before receiving surgery

Le Tour

Ventured out to the roadside to watch the Tour de France pass with Barry & Sue Badcock.  Even though the crowds were thin where we were ay Sawston (lack of exciting roundabout or sharp bend and of course no hill!) it was exciting to see the Tour for the first time.  I was surprised to see how big the gap between the Tete de la Course and the Pelotan had already grown - 3 minutes after about 25 minutes cycling.  I was also pleased to see that Dave Brailsford travels in style!  After the main race had passed there was a group of Cambridge cyclists lapping up the applause and even a guy on the most impractical bike that I've ever seen!
