I have started to collect some autumn pictures for submission to my local village magazine. On Sunday I was lucky to catch Phil Baynes' eye when he was sowing wheat and he offered me the chance to ride shotgun in the cab for a circuit which not only allowed me a different viewpoint, but also showed me the GPS based technology for farming in action. I have read about GPS guided farm equipment, but I hadn't realised that not only is the tractor's path guided, but even the sewing density is varied based upon soil analysis.
I have also been on the lookout for autumn fruit and will be looking for blackberries and sloes amongst others.
